XyEnterprise Signs Enterprise License Agreement with U.S. Navy Contenta, Contenta S1000D, XPP and ContentaView are Powerful Tools Supporting the Navy
Wakefield, MA (PRWEB) October 8, 2008 -- XyEnterprise, a leading developer of award-winning XML content management and multi-channel delivery solutions announced today the execution of a U.S. Navy Enterprise Subscription License Agreement. The agreement provides the entire Navy with access to Contenta, Contenta S1000D, XML Professional Publisher (XPP) and ContentaView, further expanding the use of XyEnterprise's content management, publishing and Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) generation and delivery solutions throughout the Navy.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) has been using XyEnterprise technologies for more than ten years. With the Enterprise License Agreement, XyEnterprise will provide the Navy with easy access to commercially available off the shelf (COTS) content management, automated PDF publishing and standards-based IETM generation and delivery technologies for a single user or an entire program supporting hundreds of users.
The agreement also signifies a deepening technology partnership with XyEnterprise that has developed over the long term through a history of proven successes and the delivery of tools that allow the Navy to realize the goals established in its rationalization, reduction and centralization strategy, a critical component of the ongoing effort to lower costs and improve the accurate and timely delivery of information to the war fighter.
By identifying and eliminating redundant tools, the Navy saves money that would otherwise need to be allocated to support redundant development, training and ongoing support costs. Through these continuous improvements to the information creation, management and delivery process, the Navy can reduce costs and/or reallocate resources to other programs that provide greater accessibility to services critical to support the war fighter.
Reducing operational costs is just one way that XyEnterprise helps the Navy. XyEnterprise technologies also help Navy customers and their contractors to produce more accurate information products, provide better service to their customers and end users, add efficiencies to the creation and delivery process, and significantly reduce the time needed to create and produce mission critical deliverables for internal and external users.
XyEnterprise takes a standards-based approach to managing content and provides support for both existing and emerging standards, including S1000D, 24784C, 38784B, 81310, 3001, NAVSEA Class 2, PMS and EOSS to name a few. These standards are critical to the support of existing and future Navy data formats.
Bernie Coval, Logistics Data Management & Publishing Lead with the NSWC in Philadelphia has been appointed as the primary contact for Navy groups who wish to participate in the enterprise subscription license program. Entry into this program provides Navy groups with the tools necessary to transform their engineering knowledge into accurate and timely guidance and training for the operation, maintenance and support of Navy systems; thereby ensuring the country always has the world's best Navy. Through strong leadership and experienced personnel, NSWC Philadelphia has developed a center of excellence within the Navy's technical publications community and provides first line support for users accessing this enterprise program.
"The Navy is very diligent in its technology and tools review, as well as the overall selection process," said Lou Iuppa, Vice President of Business Development, XyEnterprise. "We are very pleased that XyEnterprise products have proven their value over the test of time and that the U.S. Navy has achieved sufficient benefit to include them as a critical component of the rationalization, reduction, and centralization strategy," he said.
